FAQ
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship from?
Every order is roasted and packed by hand in our small Oslo roastery and shipped from there.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout based on your destination, so you always see the exact cost before you pay. Within Norway we offer a flat standard rate with 2 to 5 business day delivery.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Norway: 2 to 5 business days. International orders vary by destination and customs handling, and typically arrive within 1 to 2 weeks. Because we roast in small batches, your coffee is roasted fresh before it ships.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to the EU, the United Kingdom, the United States and many other countries. Available destinations are shown at checkout.
Will I have to pay customs or import duties?
Orders shipped outside Norway may be subject to local import duties, taxes or VAT set by the destination country. These are not included in your order total and are the responsibility of the recipient.
How is the coffee packaged?
In resealable, light-protective bags that keep your coffee fresh from our roastery to your cup.
The Coffee
What makes Piritu different?
Most coffee is a blend of many origins. Ours is the opposite: single, rare microlots from one farm, Finca Nueva Alianza in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, Peru, grown by two-time Cup of Excellence farmer Dwight Aguilar, and micro-roasted in small batches in Oslo.
What's the difference between your three coffees?
- Yellow Gesha is our Cup of Excellence lot. Delicate and floral, with jasmine, peach, citrus and honey.
- Red Gesha brings floral tea, stone fruit, citrus and honey.
- SL09 Inca is richer and deeper, with dark berry, red wine, chocolate and dried fruit.
If you're new to specialty coffee, SL09 is the most approachable. The Geshas are for those who want something rare and aromatic.
What does "Cup of Excellence" mean?
Cup of Excellence is one of the most respected quality competitions in coffee. Only the highest-scoring lots in a country earn the title. Our Yellow Gesha is a Cup of Excellence winning coffee.
Are the beans whole or ground?
Our bags are sold as whole beans to protect freshness and aroma. If you'd prefer ground coffee, our Coffee Subscription lets you choose your grind format (filter or espresso).
How fresh is the coffee?
Very. We roast in small batches in Oslo and ship soon after roasting, so it reaches you close to its peak. For the best cup, we recommend enjoying it within a few weeks of opening.
How should I store it?
Keep the bag sealed, away from light, heat and moisture, at room temperature. Avoid the fridge or freezer for opened bags.
How much coffee is in a bag?
Each bag contains 200 g of whole bean specialty coffee.
How do I brew it?
We've put together a simple V60 brew guide to help you get the most out of every lot.
Subscription
How does the Coffee Subscription work?
You choose a flavour profile (Fresh & Fruity, Rich & Sweet, or let us surprise you) and your format (filter or espresso grind). We roast and send it to you on your chosen schedule.
Can I pause, change or cancel?
Yes. You're always in control. You can pause, change your profile or format, or cancel at any time from your account.
When am I charged and when does it ship?
Your coffee is roasted fresh ahead of each delivery on your chosen schedule.
Orders & Returns
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Because we roast and pack quickly to keep your coffee fresh, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help before it ships.
What is your return policy?
As a fresh food product, coffee can't be returned once opened. That said, your satisfaction matters to us. If anything is wrong with your order, please reach out and we'll make it right.
My order arrived damaged or incorrect, what should I do?
We're sorry! Email us with your order number and a photo and we'll sort it out quickly with a replacement or refund.
