Our Producer
Finca Nueva Alianza is located in the Santa Teresa valley of Cusco, a region increasingly recognized as one of Peru's most promising specialty coffee origins. At 1,900 masl, the altitude slows cherry maturation, allowing sugars and organic acids to develop fully, resulting in coffees with bright acidity, floral aromatics, and remarkable sweetness.
Dwight oversees every stage of production: from seedling selection and soil management to hand-picking, washing, and drying on raised beds. This level of control at origin is what makes micro lot specialty coffee possible, and it is what separates these coffees from commercial production.
Process
All coffees from Finca Nueva Alianza are carefully washed and dried on raised African beds under controlled conditions. Dwight personally monitors moisture levels and turning schedules to ensure each lot meets competition-grade standards. The result is a clean, transparent cup that lets the terroir and variety speak for themselves.
Why This Matters
When you buy a bag from Piritu Coffee, you are buying coffee from a single producer at a single farm. You know the name, the altitude, the variety, and the process. This is the opposite of commodity coffee. It is full traceability, direct relationship, and shared respect for quality.
We are proud to work with Dwight, and we believe his coffees represent some of the finest coming out of Peru today.
